Carl Lowenberger is Professor Emeritus at Simon Fraser University. He grew up in the Caribbean, where his interests in insects began. He received a BSc in Entomology from the University of Guelph and a PhD in Parasitology from McGill. To combine interests in both fields, he focused on studies on the transmission parasites and pathogens by insect vectors. He has appeared on multiple TV interviews regarding mosquitoes and West Nile virus in BC, and on the Rick Mercer report.
